A Six Year Old That Knows More Than You Do.... Everyone Should Have One

Okay seriously... my brain hurts.

Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces and she is so very very very smart, but that's the problem. I think she is smarter than I am, and it is catching up with me.

I totally get that kids ask questions. She asks questions non stop. We aren't talking easy questions like, "why does it rain?" or "why can't we pick leaves off the trees." Oh no... those questions were from when she was 2 and 3 years old. The other day she was talking to her grandmother about "double tricking" her playing a strategy game.

Again, I say, she just turned SIX.

Really I don't get it. It's the inverse of what would make sense. We should start out with no energy and slowly gain it so that when we have kids we have ample energy so they can't outrun or outthink us.

  2. This made me laugh. All our kids are grown up but one of our sons had a gift for math. I should have figured something was up when he could do 100 piece jigsaw puzzles before he was three. We gave him a bunch for his third birthday. He understood the concept of negative numbers in first grade and could do a rubiks cube puzzle in about 90 seconds flat. My only consolation as his math skills outdistanced mine by the time he was in third grade was that he still needed my help for English assignments. The Lord compensates!
